Hear It From Others Like You...

Alyssa is a gem in the field of therapy who not only possesses expertise but exudes genuine care and commitment to their clients' well-being. I can confidently attest to her brilliance, attention to detail and unwavering dedication to obtaining balanced lives among her clients. By cultivating a sense of autonomy, she helps clients cultivate the skills and strategies necessary to navigate life's challenges beyond when therapy concludes.

Mental Health Colleague

Alyssa is a remarkably insightful, responsive, and encouraging therapist. In our ERP work, she puts a lot of care and attention into pushing me outside my comfort zone, but not beyond my breaking point. Alyssa is wonderfully enthusiastic in applauding my every victory and helps me feel proud of myself and my accomplishments - no small feat!

Alyssa also replies very promptly to emails, texts, or coaching calls, which is greatly appreciated. She coordinates actively with my overall care team and provides valuable guidance to my mom during parent calls. Alyssa thinks deeply about the needs of her clients and the best treatment options for them. She is able to talk through and recommend various options or alternatives (such as a psychiatrist, neuropsychologist, IOP, residential treatment program, etc. as needed) and weigh the tradeoffs. She is also very knowledgeable in various treatment modalities and is certified in more specialized options such as RO-DBT.

I was able to build trust with Alyssa very quickly, and it is clear that she approaches our work with genuine care and compassion. I know that with Alyssa I am always receiving excellent therapeutic care.

A Happy Client

Alyssa is by the far the most amazing therapist I’ve ever had…and I’ve gone through many! The continued care and investment she has in my journey towards recovery and living a healthy and fulfilling life is just one of the many reasons why she’s the best of the best. I started working with Alyssa back in 2022 when I was in a dark place. With her help, I went from being in and out of treatment centers through all of college to now being an independent adult with a job and clean of maladaptive behaviors. I was able to turn my life around for the better. I don’t trust people easily, yet Alyssa created an environment for me where I could fully trust her and talk about anything. I feel so lucky to have her as my therapist.

Got Questions?

Find answers to frequently asked questions about Alyssa's psychotherapy services and learn how she can support your mental health journey.

Do you accept insurance?

My services are out-of-network, so fees are paid out-of-pocket. However, for clients that have out-of-network benefits, I can create superbills that can be submitted to your insurance for reimbursement.

How do I make an appointment?

To schedule an appointment with me, you can fill out the contact form, email me directly at Alyssa@moslowmind.com, or schedule a free 15-minute initial consultation.

When and where do appointments occur?

At this time I am primarily remote. However, upon request I may be able to meet in person in either NYC or Port Washington, NY.

How long are each session and how often will I see you?

Sessions are typically 50 minutes. The frequency of sessions are individualized depending on availability, cost, and need in this particular moment. Therapy is most effective when able to engage on a weekly basis. Some people prefer to start with 2x a week.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Sessions can be paid for with all major credit cards, cash, venmo, zelle or check. Depending on your preference sessions can be billed after each meeting, weekly, or monthly. While my services are out-of-network, fees are typically paid out-of-pocket. For individuals with out-of-network benefits, I generate superbills that can be submitted to your insurance company. This allows you to receive partial reimbursement for the services rendered.

Do you work with other professionals?

Yes! Collaboration with other treating professionals such as psychiatrists, primary care doctors, and school counselors are pertinent for holistic healing. I will aid in crafting a tailored treatment plan that involves active collaboration with both you and other healthcare professionals involved in your care.

What can I expect in the free 15-minute consultation?

The initial phone or zoom call allows for you to assess your comfort level and determine if there is good rapport with me. This initial meeting allows for us to scratch the surface into your treatment options, discuss your needs, and ensure that we align.

How should I choose my therapist?

To select the right therapist best suited for you, it is important to reflect upon your goals and seek out a therapist who specializes in your specific concerns.

What do you specialize in?

Anxiety and Depression: generalized anxiety, social anxiety, low self worth/self esteem, motivation, life skills. OCD: utilizing exposure response therapy (ERP) to target: contamination, life-event, intrusive thoughts, ruminations, checking. Eating disorders: anorexia, disordered eating, emotional eating, binge eating disorder, bulimia, orthorexia, body image issues. Executive functioning: academic underachievement, ADHD, ODD, procrastination, work-life balance.

What's your cancellation policy?

Kindly cancel or reschedule your session at least 48 hours in advance to avoid being charged for the missed session in full. If a client cannot make it to a session or needs to reschedule, I will always do my best to find an alternative time slot.
